Statement of Support
Providence Pediatrics supports the American Academy of Pediatrics along with the CDC's recommendations for immunizations. For any questions about the safety and efficacy of vaccines, please review the links below or speak with one of the physicians at your child's next visit.
Due to the rising incidence of vaccine preventable illnesses and the risks to newborns and immunocompromised patients, we are no longer accepting new families who are choosing to not vaccinate their children.

Birth - Hepatitis B vaccine

1 mo well visit - NO VACCINES GIVEN

2 mo well visit - Pediarix (DTaP, IPV, Hepatitis B), Prevnar, Pedvaxhib, Rotateq

4 mo well visit - Pediarix (DTaP, IPV, Hepatitis B), Prevnar, Pedvaxhib, Rotateq

6 mo well visit - Pediarix (DTaP, IPV, Hepatitis B), Prevnar, Rotateq

12 mo well visit - Prevnar, MMR, Hepatitis A

15 mo well visit - PedvaxHIB, Varicella

18 mo well visit - DTaP, Hepatitis A

24 mo well visit - possible flu/covid per recommendations

30 mo well visit - possible flu/covid per recommendations

3 yr well visit - possible flu/covid per recommendations

4 yr well visit - MMR, Varicella

5 yr well visit - DTaP, IPV

6-8 yr well visits - possible flu/covid per recommendations

11 yr well visit - TDaP, Menveo

Pre/Adolescent visits - Gardasil 9-26yrs+ - 2 dose series if given before 15yrs, Strongly recommend completing series before age 13yrs, 3 dose series if 1st dose given after 15yrs

16-18 yr well visit - Menveo booster (now mandatory for entering 12th grade)

18 yr - prior to college - Bexsero - 2 dose series (recommended if living in college dorms)

Flu Vaccines

AAP recommends annual flu vaccines for all children and adolescents 6 months and older.

The first year children receive a flu vaccine, they will receive a 2nd booster given 1 month later.

We now have flu vaccines for the current season - don't wait to schedule your nurse visits to vaccinate your children.

Covid Vaccines

AAP, ACIP & CDC recommend the primary series and booster Covid vaccines for children 6 mos and older

Our office will be offering the updated Moderna vaccine currently approved for children 6 mos and up
-
Children 6mo-5 yrs are to receive a 2 dose initial primary series, children >5 yrs prev unvaccinated can receive a single dose of the current covid vaccine

Booster vaccine doses are optional for those who have previously been vaccinated - at least 2 mos from prior covid vaccine & 3 mos from any covid infection
RSV Passive Immunization

Beyfortus is a monoclonal antibody providing passive immunization to RSV - this has been approved for babies 8mos and under during peak RSV season November-March

We will be offering this immunization to patients that meet criteria and are <8mos November-March - based on availability
